The Edison Project List

This is the third consecutive year of The Edison Project. The primary concept remains the same, but over the last twelve months, the blog has evolved as a result of the more significant events that I have been able to tick off, namely, becoming a dad. This in itself has opened up a whole world of potential new items to explore, something I am extremely excited about. I am sure these will be documented in the New Year through the ‘Playing Dad’ series. However, this blog post is not about ‘Playing Dad’. As with the past two years, I want to summarise what I have been able to accomplish over the past twelve months with ‘The Edison Project List’.

My objective for 2016 was simply to complete more than I did in 2015. In the last post, I celebrated the fact I had set a new PB in completing 17 items in 2016. On review, this statement was actually incorrect. I also ticked off 17 items in 2015. Whilst this is not an improvement year-on-year, the past twelve months have seen me experience some really big events, far more than any year before.

The year started with several followers sharing their lists for 2016 and culminated in me attending an England international rugby game where I sang the national anthem with pride. However, my biggest achievement by far is the fact I now have a family. My daughter has brought me so much joy, and I can’t wait to be there as she grows up. If it was not for my daughter’s arrival, then the engagement to my beautiful fiancée would have been number one.

Tomorrow I will be publishing the new list for the coming year. There will be 100 items, with those completed last year either removed or built upon. I thoroughly enjoy this process, and I hope others find enjoyment either through my blog or in their own lists. If you fall into the latter category, then get in touch to share your lists.

I will leave you by wishing you a Happy New Year!
