Our road trip was to Cornwall. Home of the longest coastline in Great Britain. I’ll leave it to someone else to corroborate that fact.

Simply put, I wanted to complete a road trip. A long journey where we grab some basics and set off with no planned agenda.

In the first draft of my Edison Project list, I envisioned this road trip being along route 66. Instead, me and my girlfriend headed to Cornwall. This destination was chosen for a handful of reasons. It is somewhere I have never explored properly, and  visiting Cornwall was on my reserve list along with a handful of other experiences based in the county e.g. see a play at the Minack Theatre, visit Lands End, eat a Cornish Pasty in St Ives.

To begin with, we planned accommodation in Penzance and St Ives via airbnb (this is a service I highly recommend – shout if you want a referral discount). From these bases, we travelled along the coastline of Cornwall starting at Lizard Point, finishing in Port Isaac, and venturing to the Eden Project in between (this was another item completed on my 2015 list). The highlight of our trip being the coastal road between St Just and St Ives, especially the view at Pendeen Lighthouse.

This trip has provided a lot of inspiration for further bucket list items, and I envisage more specific road trips being added to my list in the future. Check out some of the highlights below.
