1.2 million Brits go skiing each year, and now, I am one of them. Having attended birthday parties as a kid at the dry ski slope in Welwyn Garden City, the idea of skiing down a mountain has always appealed to me.

At the age of 28, I finally got round to tackling this challenge on a trip to Morzine in France. With a few lessons at The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, and dressed like a tactical military squad member, I was confidently skiing green and blue runs. The latter were a little challenging in places, but it was a great experience and something I plan to do again in the future.

If you have never been, then I highly recommend it. You don’t need to go all out on a ski holiday. A visit to the local indoor slope would be a great starting point. My nearest indoor slope is in Hemel Hempstead at The Snow Centre. Besides access to a slope and snow, they also have all the equipment you require. Get yourself on Google and check out where you can give it a go near you.
